    high waves [하이 웨이-]. 일기예보에서는 종종 등장하는 단어이다. Waves의 끝자음이 약화되어 high waves가 highway처럼 들릴 수 있으므로 주의한다. certainly [써든리]. Certainly는 보통 [썰튼리]가 아니라 [썻은리]로 발음된다. 여기서는 [t]모음 사이에서 유음화되어 suddenly[써든리]처럼 들리고 있다. flooding[플러링]. -d-가 강모음과 약모음 사이에서 [ㄹ]로 유음화되어 [플러링]으로 발음되고 있다.
